What is WOTC?

As companies continue to struggle with filling vacant positions, our colleagues at the PA Department of Labor and Industry wanted to remind hiring organizations about the Work Opportunity Tax Credit (WOTC). This federal tax credit enables companies to benefit from hiring individuals from targeted groups including veterans, SNAP recipients, vocational rehabilitation referrals, and more.

Any size company can participate with minimal paperwork required to claim the credit. The program does not dictate hiring decisions and employers to hire as many qualified employees as needed. In additional to the tax credit, there is also a federal bonding program available to protect companies again losses.

Below is a video that walks through the process and provides a comprehensive overview of the program.

For more information, visit the WOTC home page or contact SEWN to be connected with your local representative.
